Hazuki Hirano is an emerging artist with a growing presence on the opera stage and in concert halls across Japan and Europe. Her recent engagements include the roles of La Badessa and La Suora Zelatrice in Suor Angelica, as well as Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi, both performed at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn in Vienna in 2025.
She has also appeared as a soloist in numerous concerts, such as Mozart’s Missa brevis, KV.140 in Vienna, and in Tokyo, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, and Handel’s Messiah.
She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Opera at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), where she studies with Prof. H. Keil, Prof. H. Malkowsky, and Prof. E. Lienbacher. Previously, she studied under Prof. Masako Teshima at the Tokyo University of the Arts, where she was awarded the prestigious Emerald Award. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Tokyo Gakugei University.
Her vocal artistry has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Winner’s Prize at the Tama-Fresh Competition and the Tokyo International Vocal Music Competition. She is a recipient of the Fukushima Scholarship for overseas studies and the Munetsugu Angel Fund scholarship for outstanding music students.
Her versatility and expressive mezzo-soprano voice continue to draw attention, particularly in opera, Lied and oratorio, where she brings both musical depth and emotional clarity.
